Latitude E7450 14" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency and 16GB DDR3 memory. A new 500GB SSD provides the boot drive.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The Intel Core i5-5300U operates at a 2.30 GHz base clock with Intel HD Graphics 5500 integrated graphics. This low-power design keeps heat and fan noise modest during typical office workloads. The 500GB SATA SSD has no moving parts, helping the system stay quiet.

16GB DDR3 soldered limit decides upgrade path

Memory is capped at 16 GB across two slots, so the installed 16GB DDR3 already reaches the maximum supported capacity. Buyers who want more memory cannot expand beyond this limit. The single 2.5 inch SATA bay allows storage upgrades but no additional drive bays exist.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA SSD, and what step is often missed?

Fit the 2.5" SATA drive into the internal bay and secure it with the caddy screws; the step often missed is reconnecting the SATA data cable firmly before closing the chassis.

What maintenance will the 16GB DDR3 memory need later?

The 16GB DDR3 fills both slots at the 16 GB maximum, so no further memory upgrades are possible; only occasional dust removal from the vents is required.

What limit appears first during sustained use on the Intel Core i5-5300U?

The dual-core i5-5300U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 reaches its thermal ceiling first, causing clock speeds to drop from 2.90 GHz under prolonged load.
