Business laptop with FHD display

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0 inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch screen. It runs on an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor with a base frequency of 2.30 GHz and a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. It ships with no operating system installed.

Upgrade from mechanical storage

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the included 240GB SATA SSD dramatically reduces boot times and application load speeds. The jump is most noticeable when moving from a spinning disk or a smaller capacity solid-state drive. The dual-core i5-5300U and 8GB of RAM handle typical office multitasking, but the platform maxes out at 16GB total memory across two slots.

Check OS and memory plans

Verify you have a valid licence and installation media for Windows or another operating system before ordering. Confirm the two SODIMM slots can accept your planned memory configuration up to the 16GB maximum. Ensure the 2.5 inch SATA form factor suits any future storage expansion you may want.

Questions about this item

What size drive bay does the 240GB SSD require?

The 240GB SSD uses a 2.5 inch SATA form factor, so it fits the standard 2.5 inch drive bay inside the Latitude E7450 chassis.

How do I install an operating system on this laptop since none is included?

Create a bootable USB installer for Windows or Linux, enter the BIOS at startup, set the USB as first boot device, then follow the on-screen setup prompts.

Can I upgrade the 8GB DDR3 memory later, and what is the maximum supported?

Yes, the system has two memory slots and supports up to 16GB total DDR3, so you can add or replace modules to reach that limit.
