Target user

The Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 1TB SSD on a 2.5-inch SATA interface. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Thermals and power

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and low-voltage U-series CPU keep heat output modest during typical office workloads. Fan activity remains subdued for document editing and web browsing, while sustained multi-core tasks will raise temperatures and acoustic levels within the constraints of the ultrabook chassis.

What the bundle changes

The 1TB SSD replaces slower mechanical storage, cutting boot and application load times compared to a traditional hard drive. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 fills both memory slots, removing the need for an immediate upgrade. Windows 10 Pro adds BitLocker encryption and domain-join capability for managed environments.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA SSD in the Latitude E7470, and which step is often missed?

Remove the base screws, slide the drive into the internal bay and secure it with the caddy screw; the step often missed is reconnecting the SATA data cable before replacing the bottom cover.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The memory is already at the 16 GB maximum supported, so no upgrade is possible; only a future DIMM replacement would be required if a module fails.

What limit appears first during sustained use on the Intel HD Graphics 520?

Thermal throttling on the dual-core i7-6600U typically appears first, reducing the 3.40 GHz turbo frequency to protect the 14.0" chassis.
