Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 2TB SSD 2.5" SATA drive. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate productivity.

Thermals and power in daily use

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles standard office tasks without a discrete GPU, keeping heat output modest during document editing and web browsing. The dual-core CPU runs at a base frequency of 2.60 GHz, drawing limited power under typical workloads. Fan noise stays low when the system is not under sustained heavy load.

Bundled software and storage impact

Windows 10 Home 64-bit provides the operating environment for business applications and security updates. The new 2TB SSD replaces a traditional hard drive, delivering faster boot times and quicker file access. The 2.5 inch SATA interface ensures compatibility with the existing drive bay. The 16GB DDR4 memory fills both available slots, reaching the maximum supported capacity.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA 2TB SSD in the Latitude E7470?

Remove the bottom cover, slide the drive into the SATA bay and secure it with the captive screw; the step often missed is reconnecting the ribbon cable before refitting the cover.

Will the 16GB DDR4 memory need upgrading later?

The system already has the maximum 16GB supported across its two slots, so no further RAM upgrade is possible.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained load on the i7-6600U?

The dual-core processor reaches its 3.40 GHz turbo ceiling and then throttles to maintain safe temperatures.
