Compact 14-inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate use.

Buyers needing more memory or a dedicated GPU

This unit suits professionals who want a lightweight Windows 10 machine with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. It is not for buyers who need more than 16 GB of total memory, a discrete graphics card, or a touchscreen interface.

Dual SODIMM slots supporting 16 GB maximum

The system board provides two memory slots and officially supports up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. This limit decides whether the laptop can handle your workload or if you must choose a platform with a higher ceiling.

Questions about this item

How does the 2.60 GHz base clock on the i7-6600U behave under sustained load in this 14.0" chassis?

The dual-core processor can reach 3.40 GHz turbo frequency when thermal headroom allows, so everyday tasks run at the higher speed while heavy multi-threaded work settles closer to the base clock.

What does the SATA interface mean for the 1TB SSD's real-world transfer ceiling?

The 2.5" SATA connection limits sequential throughput to the SATA III maximum, so large file copies peak at the interface ceiling rather than the drive's own potential.

Will the existing 8GB DDR4 module leave a free slot for a future upgrade to the 16 GB maximum?

The laptop has two memory slots in total and supports up to 16 GB, so one slot remains open for an additional DDR4 module.
