Dell Latitude E7470 14" FHD

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor with a base frequency of 2.40 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.00 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR4 memory and a new 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Sustained load behaviour

The Intel HD Graphics 520 integrated GPU handles desktop workloads and video playback without a discrete graphics chip. The dual-core CPU reaches 3.00 GHz turbo for short bursts but settles at lower clocks during extended tasks. With 16GB DDR4 at the maximum supported capacity, memory-intensive applications run without swapping to the SSD.

Installation and common issues

The laptop arrives with no operating system so the buyer must provide a Windows licence or alternative OS and create installation media. The 240GB SATA SSD is already fitted and the 16GB DDR4 fills both memory slots leaving no room for upgrades. Drivers for the Intel HD Graphics 520 and other components must be downloaded after the OS installation.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Intel Core i5-6300U get when the Latitude E7470 runs all day?

The dual-core i5-6300U has a base clock of 2.40 GHz and turbo up to 3.00 GHz, so sustained loads stay within a low thermal envelope; fan noise remains modest for a 14.0" business chassis.

The listing says No Operating System — what must I already own to start using the laptop?

You need a licensed copy of Windows or another OS on bootable media, plus any drivers you prefer, because the 240 GB SATA SSD ships blank.

Will my older SATA peripherals and DDR4 modules work with this E7470?

The 2.5" SATA bay accepts legacy 2.5" drives, and the two DDR4 slots support up to 16 GB total, matching the 16 GB already installed.
