Dell Latitude E7470 14 inch FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits professionals needing a portable 14 inch device with ample solid-state storage and 16GB RAM for multitasking. Buyers who want more storage capacity than 2TB should look elsewhere. Users requiring a touchscreen or a dedicated graphics card for intensive 3D work should also consider other options.

The specification that decides fit

The 16GB DDR4 memory is soldered to the maximum supported limit of 16 GB with no free slots for upgrades. If your workflow demands more than 16GB of RAM, this unit cannot accommodate that need. The 2TB NVMe SSD provides the primary high-speed storage volume.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel HD Graphics 520 in the Latitude E7470 drive my older 1080p monitor over HDMI?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 supports external displays at 1920 x 1080 over the laptop's video output, so a 1080p monitor will work at its native resolution.

How can I verify the 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD is recognised at full speed after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click the disk labelled 2TB and confirm the interface reads NVMe PCIe with active read and write throughput.

Does the box include a power adapter or must I buy a Dell 65 W USB-C charger separately?

The laptop ships with its original 65 W barrel-tip AC adapter and UK power cord, so no separate charger purchase is required.
