Purpose-built mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0" FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 suit professionals who need a reliable, portable system without a pre-installed operating system.

Upgrade path and value

This unit replaces an older hard-drive laptop or a smaller-capacity SSD model, delivering a large 2TB NVMe drive out of the box. The jump is worth it when you need fast boot times, ample local storage for projects, and the ability to expand memory up to 16 GB across two slots. Buyers who want more storage than 2TB or a dedicated graphics processor should look elsewhere.

Platform limits

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles everyday productivity and video playback but is not suited for modern 3D workloads or heavy GPU compute. Memory tops out at 16 GB DDR4, so workloads requiring more RAM will hit a ceiling. The system ships with no operating system, so the buyer must supply and install their own Windows or Linux environment.
