Latitude E7470 business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0" FHD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor running at 2.20 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 1TB SSD, running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit for professional environments.

14.0" FHD display and integrated graphics

The 1920 x 1080 non-touch screen pairs with Intel Iris Graphics 540 for everyday productivity and media playback. The 2.5" SATA SSD slot provides the primary storage, while two memory slots allow expansion up to 16 GB total system memory.

1TB SSD capacity and 16 GB memory ceiling

The 1TB solid-state drive offers ample room for operating system, applications and large document libraries without mechanical delays. Memory headroom stops at 16 GB, so workloads requiring more RAM will need a different platform.

Questions about this item

How long can the i7-6650U sustain its 3.40 GHz turbo before thermal throttling?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.20 GHz base and can reach 3.40 GHz turbo; sustained turbo duration depends on the cooling solution built into this 14.0" chassis.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures when the laptop runs at full load for hours?

The Intel Iris Graphics 540 and i7-6650U share the internal thermal design; under continuous load the fans spin up to dissipate heat from the 2.5" SATA SSD and memory modules.

Which memory modules must I already have to reach the 16 GB maximum?

The system has two DDR4 slots with 8 GB installed; adding another 8 GB DDR4 module fills the second slot and reaches the 16 GB limit.
