Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop aimed at professionals who need a reliable daily driver. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 500GB NVMe drive already installed. No operating system is included so the buyer chooses their own.

Sustained workload behaviour

The dual-core Intel Core i5-6200U runs at 2.30 GHz with a 2.80 GHz turbo frequency for short bursts. Under continuous load the processor will throttle to stay within its thermal envelope. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles basic video output only.

Installation and common issues

Memory is maxed at 16 GB across two slots so no RAM upgrade is possible. The M.2 NVMe drive can be swapped for a larger unit if more storage is needed. Buyers must acquire and install an operating system themselves before the laptop is usable.

Questions about this item

How much heat or fan noise does the Latitude E7470 produce when running continuously all day?

The dual-core i5-6200U runs at 2.30 GHz with a 2.80 GHz turbo, so sustained loads stay within a low thermal envelope that keeps fan activity modest during typical office work.

What must I supply myself before this Latitude E7470 will boot?

The laptop ships with no operating system installed, so you need to provide your own Windows or Linux installation media and licence to get it running.

Can I keep my older DDR4 memory sticks when upgrading this Latitude E7470?

The system uses DDR4 SO-DIMMs in two slots and already has 16 GB fitted, which is the maximum supported capacity, so existing DDR4 modules would only be useful if you replace the current memory entirely.
