Suits users needing a ready 16GB

This unit suits buyers who want 16GB RAM and 2TB storage without upgrading. The memory is fixed at the 16GB maximum supported. Buyers who need more than 16GB memory should look at a different platform. Users who require an operating system pre-installed must acquire one separately.

Memory capped at 16GB DDR4 across two slots

The laptop supports a maximum of 16GB DDR4 across two slots, and this unit already has that amount installed. No further memory expansion is possible. This limit is the key specification for anyone planning future upgrades.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Latitude E7470 get when the i7-6600U runs at 3.40 GHz for a full day?

The dual-core i7-6600U has a modest thermal design and the 14.0 inch chassis uses a single fan; under sustained load the system stays cool enough for lap use and fan noise remains a low hum.

What must I already own to start the Latitude E7470 since it ships with no operating system?

You need a Windows or Linux installation USB and a licence key; the 2TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD is blank and ready for a fresh OS install.

Will my older SATA peripherals work with the Latitude E7470 2.5 inch SSD bay?

Yes, the 2TB drive uses a standard SATA interface so any legacy 2.5 inch SATA drive you keep can swap straight in.
