Ready-to-work Latitude E7470

This Dell Latitude E7470 laptop ships new with Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor at 2.6 GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. The 14.0-inch non-touch FHD panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the display and external outputs.

Suits mobile professionals; not for heavy graphics

Travellers and client-facing users gain HDMI, mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 wireless, three USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader plus a webcam for video calls. Buyers who want more storage or a dedicated GPU for 3D workloads should look elsewhere.

8GB soldered memory caps multitasking

The system supports up to 32GB maximum memory, yet the installed 8GB is not user-expandable on this chassis, so the single specification that decides fit is whether 8GB meets your daily workload.

Questions about this item

Is the 8 GB DDR4 memory soldered or can it be upgraded later?

The system supports up to 32 GB, so the installed 8 GB DDR4 can be replaced with higher-capacity modules.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core i7-6600U runs at 2.6 GHz continuously?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 shares the same thermal envelope, so sustained loads will hit the CPU package limit before the GPU does.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel during an all-day workload?

The dual-core 2.6 GHz processor and integrated graphics keep heat modest; the single fan spins up only under heavy load and stays quiet for typical office use.
