Portable business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch notebook built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB M.2 solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display and Windows 10 Pro make it suited to mobile professionals who need a compact, durable machine for daily office tasks and client presentations.

Connectivity and expansion

Three USB 3.0 ports, a full-size HDMI output and a mini DisplayPort handle external monitors, projectors and peripherals without adapters. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 wireless provide wired and wireless network access. An integrated SD card reader simplifies file transfers from cameras or other devices. The system supports up to 32 GB of memory for future upgrades.

Included accessories

The package supplies the laptop, a compatible charger and the installed battery so the unit is ready to operate immediately. A 720p webcam is built into the bezel for video calls. No optical drive is fitted, keeping the chassis thin and light for travel. The Grade B LCD may show minor cosmetic wear on the screen surface or chassis.

Questions about this item

How does the dual-core 2.6 GHz i7-6600U hold up when the 8 GB DDR4 and Intel HD Graphics 520 share memory during long sessions?

The 4 MB L2 cache and integrated GPU pull from the same 8 GB DDR4 pool, so sustained multi-tasking can hit the memory ceiling before the processor throttles.

What fan noise and surface heat should I expect when the 14.0 inch FHD panel and SSD run all day?

The slim chassis uses the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and a 128 GB M.2 drive, so typical office loads stay quiet; heavier workloads spin the fan audibly and warm the palm-rest area.

Which cables or adapters do I need to drive two external monitors from the HDMI and mini DisplayPort?

One HDMI cable and one mini-DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable (or suitable adapter) give you two digital video outputs; the laptop also supplies three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and an SD card reader for peripherals.
