Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor running at 2.20 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The system arrives without an operating system installed.

Carbon-fibre chassis with standard ports

The Latitude 7470 uses a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis that meets military-grade durability testing while keeping the 14 inch form factor light for daily carry. A non-touch 1920 x 1080 display provides clear visuals driven by Intel Iris Graphics 540. Standard connectivity includes USB ports, HDMI output and a wired Ethernet jack for reliable docking.

Ready for immediate deployment

The factory-fresh 1TB SSD eliminates the delay of drive cloning or clean installation on used media. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 fills both memory slots to the 16 GB maximum, so no upgrade step is required. Buyers simply install their preferred operating system and the machine is ready for managed fleet rollout.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.5" SATA interface limit the 1TB SSD to SATA speeds?

The 1TB SSD uses a 2.5" SATA connection, so its transfer rate is bounded by the SATA link rather than a faster protocol.

Will this 14.0" chassis accept a second memory module in the empty slot?

The board has two DDR4 slots total and 16 GB is the maximum supported capacity, so the second slot cannot add more memory.

What is the correct order for installing an operating system on a machine that ships without one?

Create bootable installation media first, then boot from it to partition the 1TB SSD and install the OS before installing drivers.
