Questions about this item

How is the 256GB SSD installed in the removable PCIe storage bay, and what step do people get wrong?

Slide the drive into the bay until the connector seats fully, then secure the retaining screw; the common mistake is leaving the screw loose, which breaks contact under vibration.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16GB memory and 3-cell battery need later?

The 16GB memory is soldered and not user-replaceable; the 3-cell battery is removable and will need replacement when runtime drops below usable levels.

What thermal limit shows up first on the i5-8350U during sustained 3.6 GHz turbo loads?

The processor will hit its thermal throttle point first, lowering clocks from 3.6 GHz to the 1.7 GHz base to stay within the rugged chassis cooling capacity.
