Genuine Dell Rugged LCD Back Cover for Latitude

This genuine Dell original LCD back top cover lid assembly with hinges is built for the rugged Latitude XT2 XFR system. It replaces a damaged or cracked chassis on that specific 12.1 inch model. The part arrives new and includes the hinge assembly, wireless antenna cables, LCD ribbon cable and cables for the GPS and webcam modules. It restores the structural integrity and display mounting of the rugged convertible notebook.

Verify Exact Model and Existing Cable Routing

Confirm the laptop is a Latitude XT2 XFR and not another Latitude variant, as the rugged chassis and hinge geometry differ from standard models. Inspect the current lid for Dell part number V2YRK to ensure an exact match. Check that the existing wireless antenna cables, LCD ribbon cable and GPS or webcam cables are intact and can be transferred to the replacement cover without connector mismatch or length issues.

Bundled Hinge Assembly

The included hinge assembly means the lid pivots and tablet rotation function are restored without sourcing separate hinge parts. Pre-routed wireless antenna cables maintain Wi‑Fi and WWAN signal paths through the rugged lid. The LCD ribbon cable and GPS or webcam cables are also supplied, so the display, camera and location modules reconnect directly. This reduces part count and labour compared to reusing old cables.

Questions about this item

What components come with the V2YRK LCD back cover and what must I source separately?

The V2YRK assembly includes the hinge assembly, wireless antenna cables, LCD ribbon cable, and cables for the GPS or webcam module. You will need to supply the LCD panel, bezel, webcam or GPS module, and any mounting screws yourself.

Is the V2YRK cover the only version for the 12.1" Latitude XT2 XFR, or are there alternatives?

The V2YRK is the Dell original part number listed for the rugged Latitude XT2 XFR with a 12.1" display. No other part numbers or capacity options are provided for this model.

Once fitted, what does the 12.1" rugged back cover actually protect on the XT2 XFR?

It forms the rigid outer lid that shields the LCD panel and encloses the hinge mechanism, antenna cables, LCD ribbon cable, and GPS or webcam wiring in the rugged XT2 XFR chassis.
