Dual 16Gb SFP+ Adapter

The DELL LPE16002 is a rack-mount server system adapter featuring two 16Gb SFP+ ports. It provides high-speed Fibre Channel connectivity for storage area networks. The card uses an Emulex controller for reliable data transfer in enterprise environments. This new component suits administrators upgrading host bus adapter capacity.

Tested firmware update

Each adapter ships with firmware already updated and all components tested before dispatch. The dual-port design allows link aggregation or redundant paths without extra brackets or cables. Buyers needing more than two ports or a different interface speed will require additional cards. No management software or transceivers are included in the package.

Questions about this item

How often do the SFP+ transceivers in this LPE16002 need replacing?

The transceivers are hot-pluggable modules chosen separately; they are replaced only when a link speed change or a fibre fault requires it, not on a fixed schedule.

What limits sustained throughput on this dual 16Gb adapter first?

The PCIe bus width and generation installed in the host server cap the aggregate bandwidth before the two 16Gb ports can saturate.
