Refurbished business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5420 is a refurbished 14.0-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and includes Intel UHD Graphics for everyday visual tasks. The system targets professionals who need a reliable portable computer for office applications and remote work.

Sustained office workloads

The quad-core processor handles typical business applications such as document editing, web browsing and video calls without throttling during extended sessions. Integrated graphics provide stable output for external displays connected via HDMI 2.0 or Thunderbolt 4. Wi-Fi 6 and wired Ethernet keep network throughput consistent for cloud-based tools and large file transfers.

Thermals and power in daily use

The chassis manages heat from the 11th Gen Intel chip during normal productivity workloads while fan noise remains subdued in quiet offices. Power draw stays modest thanks to the efficient processor and integrated graphics combination. The backlit keyboard adds usability in low-light conditions without a noticeable impact on battery runtime.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the 14.0" Dell Latitude 5420 get when the Core i7-1165G7 runs all day?

The quad-core i7-1165G7 is a low-power U-series chip, so the fan stays quiet during typical office loads and only spins up briefly under sustained heavy work.

What must I already own to use the single Thunderbolt 4 port on this Latitude 5420?

A Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cable, dock or monitor that matches the port's USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DisplayPort alt-mode capabilities.

Will my older HDMI 1.4 monitor work with the HDMI 2.0 output on this 1920 x 1080 laptop?

Yes, the HDMI 2.0 port is backward compatible and will drive a 1080p HDMI 1.4 display at its native resolution.
