Refurbished Latitude 5420 for mobile professionals

This Dell Latitude 5420 is a refurbished 14-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with 32GB of DDR4-2400 memory and a 512GB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed. The FHD display offers 1920 x 1080 resolution at 220 nits brightness with an anti-glare finish. Weighing 7.5 kg, it is built for everyday business use.

Ports and connectivity expand docking options

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 and Power Delivery for single-cable docking and charging. Additional I/O includes one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, HDMI 2.0, RJ45 Ethernet, a universal audio jack and a micro SD-card slot. Wireless uses Intel AC 8265 for 802.11ac and Bluetooth. The optional webcam is not guaranteed.

Suits office workers needing a managed Windows 11

The 32GB RAM and quad-core CPU handle multitasking and virtualisation smoothly. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for rendering, a touchscreen, or a lighter ultraportable chassis should look elsewhere. The Grade A cosmetic condition means minimal wear, but the unit is refurbished, not new.

Questions about this item

Will the DDR4-2400 memory need replacing or can I add more later?

The laptop ships with 32GB DDR4-2400 and supports up to 64GB total, so you can add another module if you need more capacity.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core i7-1185G7 runs at 4.8 GHz for long periods?

Sustained turbo clocks are constrained by the cooling solution and 35 ms panel response; expect the CPU to throttle to base 3.0 GHz once the thermal ceiling is reached.

How loud and hot does the Latitude 5420 get when driven all day on Windows 11 Pro?

Fan noise rises under continuous load but stays at office-friendly levels; surface temperatures peak near the rear vent while the 220-nit display and Iris Xe graphics keep overall power draw moderate.
