Refurbished Latitude 5490 business laptop

This refurbished Dell Latitude 5490 runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor at 1.70 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. It is built for office workers and students who need a reliable 14.0 inch non-touch display at 1920 x 1080 resolution for everyday productivity tasks.

Integrated graphics and USB 3.1 Gen 1 limits

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory, so it handles general business applications and video playback but is not suited for gaming, 3D rendering or GPU-accelerated workloads. Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports provide 5 Gbps bandwidth for peripherals and external storage, while video output is available through one VGA and one HDMI port.

32 GB memory ceiling decides upgrade path

Two memory slots support a maximum of 32 GB, so the installed 16 GB can be doubled but not expanded further. Buyers who anticipate heavier multitasking or virtualisation should plan for that limit, while users needing discrete graphics, touchscreen input or larger internal storage will need a different model.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16GB / 256GB version or upgrade to 32GB later?

What does the 1.70GHz base clock mean for everyday workloads?
