External Power Shelf for Dell Switches

The Dell MPS-1S is an external power shelf built for the N2200, N3200 and E3200 series PoE switches. It accepts 1050W AC, 1600W AC, 2000W AC and 1300W DC power supplies to deliver redundant power. The shelf uses standard airflow from I/O to PSU and ships without power supplies installed.

Who This Suits

Network teams adding PoE capacity to compatible Dell switches will use this shelf to install the exact wattage their deployment requires. Buyers who need an integrated power supply or a shelf for non-Dell hardware cannot use this unit.

Deciding Specification

The shelf fits 1050W AC, 1600W AC, 2000W AC and 1300W DC power supplies, so the choice of installed supply sets the total available wattage. Confirm the required power supply model before purchase.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power draw should I expect from the MPS-1S shelf running continuously with a 1600W AC supply installed?

The shelf itself adds minimal overhead; total heat and draw will match the 1600W AC supply’s rated output and efficiency curve under your PoE load.

Which specific power supply units must I already own or purchase separately to make this G2WKW shelf operational?

You need one or more Dell 1050W AC, 1600W AC, 2000W AC or 1300W DC supplies — the shelf ships without any power supply installed.

Will this external power shelf connect directly to my existing Dell N2200 series PoE switches without extra cabling or adapters?

Yes, the MPS-1S is designed for native compatibility with N2200, N3200 and E3200 PoE switches using standard airflow (I/O to PSU) orientation.
