Dell N1381 Slim DVD-ROM Drive

This slim optical drive reads DVD media at up to 24X speed and CD media at 8X speed. It is designed for Dell Latitude C-series laptops that accept a slimline internal module. The unit is supplied new and ready for installation.

Before ordering

Verify that your Latitude C-series chassis accepts a slim internal optical drive with the correct connector and bezel alignment. Confirm the drive bay height and screw-hole pattern match the original specification. Ensure the system BIOS recognises the drive type without a firmware update. Buyers needing a tray-load mechanism or a different interface should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the DELL N1381 24X Slim DVD-ROM Drive come with mounting brackets or faceplates, or do I need to source them separately?

The drive is supplied as the bare slimline unit; any brackets, bezels or screws required for a specific Latitude C-series chassis must be sourced separately.

Should I choose the 8X DVD read speed or the 24X CD read speed for my Latitude C-series?

The drive handles both automatically — 24X for CDs and 8X for DVDs — so no version choice is needed; a single unit covers both media types.
