Refurbished Latitude E5450 for everyday work

The DELL Latitude E5450 is a refurbished 14.0-inch business laptop supplied in Grade B condition. It runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit on an Intel Core i5-5200U dual-core processor with 4GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. The 1366 x 768 display offers wide-screen support for standard office tasks.

Sustained load on a dual-core Broadwell chip

Under continuous workloads the dual-core Broadwell processor maintains its base frequency while the integrated graphics share system memory. The 4GB capacity limits the number of concurrent applications before paging to the SSD occurs. Thermal management in the Latitude chassis keeps the system stable during extended document editing or web sessions.

Replaces older 1366 x 768 laptops

This unit upgrades from earlier Latitude models that shipped with hard drives and 2GB or less of memory. The jump to a 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM is worth it for faster boot times and snappier multitasking on Windows 10. Buyers who need more storage or a built-in webcam should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get when the Core i5-5200U runs all day?

The dual-core Broadwell processor runs cool enough that the fan stays at low speed during typical office workloads.

Does the 4 GB of memory need an upgrade before I can use the laptop?

The 4 GB module is soldered, so the system works out of the box but cannot be expanded later.

Can I keep my older 1366 x 768 external monitor and connect it to this E5450?

The 14.0" panel is 1366 x 768, and the HDMI port drives an identical resolution without scaling issues.
