Dell E5470 work laptop

The Dell E5470 is a 14.0 inch business notebook powered by an Intel Core i7-6820HQ processor running at 2.7 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of memory and a 1000 GB solid-state drive for fast storage. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display runs Windows 10 and suits mobile professionals.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

Integrated graphics keep heat output modest during typical office tasks such as document editing and web browsing. The cooling system remains quiet under light workloads and the absence of a discrete GPU helps contain power draw. Battery life benefits from the efficient platform and solid-state storage.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous heavy processing the quad-core CPU maintains performance while the chassis manages thermal output. Fan speed increases to dissipate heat but stays within expected acoustic limits for a business ultrabook. The 16 GB memory supports multitasking without excessive paging to the SSD.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1000GB SSD and what step is often missed?

The SSD is already fitted; verify Windows 10 detects the full 1000 capacity in Disk Management before adding data.

Which component will need replacement first on the E5470?

The internal battery will degrade before the 16GB memory or 1000GB SSD, so plan a battery swap after a few years.

What limit appears first during sustained loads on the Core i7-6820HQ?

The integrated graphics thermal ceiling is reached before the 2.7GHz processor can sustain its maximum turbo frequency.
