Refurbished Dell E5450 workstation

This refurbished Dell E5450 workstation runs Windows 10 on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 1000 GB SSD. The 14.0" non-touch display has a 1366 x 768 Wide XGA resolution and integrated graphics. It ships with battery and AC adaptor.

Sustained load behaviour

The integrated graphics and dual-core processor handle typical business applications without active cooling noise becoming intrusive. Under continuous workloads the system remains stable for document editing, web browsing and video playback. Thermal throttling may appear during extended heavy multitasking.

Installation and common issues

The laptop arrives ready to use with Windows 10 pre-installed; simply connect the AC adaptor and power on. Missing webcam and optical drive mean video calls need an external camera and software installs require USB media. The non-touch screen cannot accept pen or finger input.

Questions about this item

How hot and loud does the Core i5-5300U get when the E5450 runs all day?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.3 GHz without a discrete GPU, so heat output stays modest and the single fan stays quiet during typical office tasks.

Which cables and peripherals must I already own to use this E5450?

The box includes the laptop, battery and AC adaptor, so only an external monitor, keyboard or mouse are needed if you want a desktop setup.

Can I keep using my older VGA projector with the E5450?

The laptop has HDMI and VGA outputs, so a legacy projector connects directly without an adapter.
