Latitude 7490 for mobile professionals

The Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around a quad-core Intel Core i5-8350U processor running at 1.70 GHz with 6 MB of L3 cache. Sixteen gigabytes of memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive support multitasking and fast boot times. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory for everyday visual tasks. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Grade A condition and Windows 11 Pro

This unit is graded A for excellent cosmetic condition, meaning minimal signs of wear. The genuine Windows 11 Pro 64-bit licence enables domain join, BitLocker encryption and remote desktop features that the Home edition lacks. No additional software bundles or recovery media are mentioned in the supplier data.

Ready to use with standard Dell power

The laptop arrives fully assembled and configured, so the first boot takes you straight to the Windows setup experience. Common issues with refurbished units include battery capacity loss and missing chassis screws from prior servicing; neither is guaranteed against. Buyers who need a touchscreen or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 512GB SSD need replacement before the i5-8350U becomes a bottleneck?

The 512GB SSD is a solid-state drive with no moving parts; typical lifespan exceeds the useful service window of the quad-core i5-8350U, so the processor will likely limit performance first.

Does the 6 MB L3 cache or shared graphics memory limit sustained workloads on the i5-8350U?

The 6 MB L3 cache and shared Intel UHD Graphics 620 memory mean sustained heavy loads will hit thermal and memory-bandwidth limits before the cache fills.

How loud and hot does the 14.0" Latitude 7490 get when the i5-8350U runs at 1.70GHz all day?

The aluminum unibody chassis dissipates heat from the quad-core i5-8350U, so fan noise stays low and surface temperatures remain comfortable during extended use.
