Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

This Dell Latitude E5450 is a refurbished 14.0-inch notebook aimed at professionals needing a portable Windows 10 Pro machine for daily office tasks. It ships with an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor, 8 GB of system memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. The unit is graded B, so the chassis may show dents, chips or scuffs and the keyboard can appear shiny or worn.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous load the integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 shares system memory, which limits graphics-intensive work such as video editing or 3D rendering. The dual-core Broadwell CPU with 3 MB L3 cache handles typical productivity applications, but prolonged heavy multi-threaded tasks will hit thermal and power constraints. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display provides basic clarity for documents and web browsing.

Installation and common issues

As a complete laptop there is no internal assembly required; simply power on and complete the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit setup. Buyers should inspect the B-grade cosmetic condition on arrival, checking for screen hairline scratches and keyboard wear. The absence of an optical drive means any legacy media must be read via external USB devices.

Questions about this item

How much heat or fan noise does the Core i5-5300U produce during a full workday?

The dual-core 5300U runs at a low 15 W TDP, so the E5450 stays cool and the fan stays quiet during typical office workloads.

What must I already own to start working with this E5450 right away?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD installed, so only a power adapter is required to begin.

Will my older VGA projector and USB 2.0 dock work with the E5450?

The E5450 includes a full-size VGA port and standard USB-A sockets, so legacy projectors and USB 2.0 docks connect without adapters.
