250 W replacement for Dell Dimension 2400 and 3000

This new Dell power supply delivers 250 W and is built to fit the Dimension 2400 and 3000 chassis. It matches the original form factor and connector layout so the system powers on without adapter cables. Owners of those desktops can swap the unit in minutes and restore reliable operation. It is not suited for builds that need higher wattage or a different mounting pattern.

Direct-fit installation with no extra parts

The supply ships as a complete unit ready for the Dimension 2400 or 3000, so no separate cables, brackets or adapters are required. That means the replacement restores power immediately without sourcing proprietary connectors. Builders working on other platforms or custom cases cannot use this unit because the connectors and mounting are model-specific.

Questions about this item

Will the internal fan in this 250 W unit need cleaning or replacement over time?

The power supply uses a built-in cooling fan; dust accumulation can reduce airflow, so periodic cleaning with compressed air is recommended, but Dell does not publish a service interval or user-replaceable fan part for the NPS-250KBD.

Under continuous load, which limit is reached first — the 250 W output ceiling or thermal protection?

The 250 W maximum output rating is the primary limit; if sustained draw approaches that level the unit will hit its power ceiling before thermal shutdown activates, provided the case ventilation matches the original Dimension 2400 or 3000 design.
