Dell NTF0R 6TB SAS hard drive

The Dell NTF0R is a 6TB internal hard drive built for PowerEdge and PowerVault servers. It uses a SAS interface and a 3.5 inch form factor with an included tray. The drive spins at 7200RPM and is sold new in retail or OEM packaging. It targets administrators expanding nearline storage in compatible Dell systems.

Capacity and headroom for nearline workloads

Six terabytes provides substantial space for bulk data, backups and archival tasks that do not demand low latency. The 12Gbps SAS link and 7200RPM spindle deliver consistent sequential throughput for streaming workloads. Random I/O performance will saturate well before the capacity limit under heavy multi-user database or virtualisation loads. Buyers needing lower latency or higher IOPS should consider solid-state alternatives.
