OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One 23" Full HD

The Dell OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One PC combines a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 LED display with an Intel Core i7-3470 quad-core processor running at 3.4 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 SODIMM RAM and a 1 TB 3.5-inch SATA hard drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed alongside a DVD-RW drive, integrated webcam, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB keyboard and mouse.

Integrated graphics thermal profile

The Intel HD Graphics 2000 with Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 shares system memory and generates modest heat during typical office tasks. Passive cooling across the unified chassis keeps noise low for general productivity, web browsing and video playback. Power draw remains restrained because the graphics subsystem does not require a discrete card or additional power connectors.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous multi-threaded load the i7-3470 can reach 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost speeds across its eight threads. The all-in-one thermal solution manages this output without throttling for extended periods, though the shared DDR3 memory bandwidth limits sustained graphics-intensive compute. Buyers needing discrete GPU performance or user-replaceable graphics should consider a tower workstation instead.

Questions about this item

How do I add more DDR3 memory to the 204-pin SODIMM slots and what step do people miss?

Remove the rear cover, insert the SODIMM at an angle until the clips snap, then replace the cover; the step often missed is pressing firmly until both side clips click into place.

Which components in this OptiPlex 9010 will likely need replacement after a few years of daily use?

The 3.5-inch 1TB SATA hard drive and the 16X DVD±RW optical drive are the mechanical parts most likely to wear out first.

What performance limit appears first when the Intel Core i7-3470 runs at 3.4 GHz under sustained heavy load?

The Intel HD Graphics 2000 with Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 becomes the bottleneck before the processor reaches thermal limits.
