Dell PERC 6/I H145K RAID Controller

The Dell PERC 6/I H145K is a hardware RAID controller card designed for internal server storage arrays. It connects SAS drives through a modular interface and presents them to the operating system as logical volumes. The card offloads parity calculation from the host CPU.

Supported RAID Levels and Limitations

This controller suits administrators who need RAID 0 striping or RAID 1 mirroring for capacity or redundancy. It also handles RAID 2, RAID 3 and RAID 4 configurations. Buyers who require parity-based or nested RAID levels beyond those listed should look at a different controller.

SAS Interface Connectivity

The single specification that decides fit is the SAS host interface used to attach the drives. Verify that your server backplane or drive cage uses the same SAS connection before purchasing.
