Pink LCD back cover for Dell Studio 1457 and 1458

This genuine Dell 14-inch lid assembly comes in pink and includes the left and right hinges plus the wireless antenna cables. It is built for the Studio 1457 and 1458 models and carries Dell part number 47DT2. The trim bezel is not included.

Passive cooling and silent operation

The cover is a structural plastic part with no moving components, so it adds no fan noise and draws no power. It simply replaces the original lid to restore the display hinge action and antenna routing. Thermals are unaffected because the part does not generate heat.

Bundled hinges and antenna cables

The supplied hinges let the screen open and close smoothly without sourcing separate hardware. The integrated wireless antenna cables reconnect to the existing Wi-Fi card to maintain signal reception. Missing trim bezel means the front display frame must be reused or bought separately. Not for buyers needing a complete top case with bezel or a different colour finish.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the pink 14″ LCD back cover with hinges onto my Studio 1458, and which step is often missed?

Remove the bezel, disconnect the antenna cables from the old lid, swap the hinge brackets, then reconnect the cables before snapping the bezel back — the antenna routing is the step most people forget.

What part of this assembly will need replacement first after extended use?

The hinge tension springs inside the left and right hinges lose torque over time, causing the lid to sag or not stay open.

What is the first limitation you hit when opening and closing the lid repeatedly?

The plastic hinge mounts on the 14″ cover can develop stress cracks after frequent cycles, especially if the lid is forced past its stop.
