Thermals and power in daily use

A 65 Wh battery supplies energy to the 8-core chip and Intel Arc 140V graphics. The 300-nit display runs at 60 Hz. Stereo speakers produce 5 W total peak output. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless connectivity with low latency.

Upgrade path and when it matters

This unit replaces devices limited to 8 GB memory or smaller SSDs with 16 GB LPDDR5X soldered RAM and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe drive. The jump is worth it for users who need on-device AI acceleration via the 47 TOPS NPU and Thunderbolt 4 expansion. Buyers who want user-upgradable memory should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 360-degree hinge for the first time, and what is the mistake people make?

Open the box, place the laptop on a flat surface, and rotate the screen gently through 360 degrees to test all four modes; the common error is forcing the hinge past its detents, which can stress the mechanism.

Which component will need replacement first, and when should I plan for it?

The 4-cell 65 Wh Li-ion polymer battery is the only user-replaceable part; expect to swap it after roughly two to three years of daily charge cycles when run-time drops below your needs.

What thermal limit appears first during a long, heavy workload?

The Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor will hit its 4.8 GHz boost ceiling and then throttle to stay within the slim 0.67-inch chassis thermal envelope, so sustained multi-core speeds settle lower than the peak figure.
