DELL PowerEdge FX2/FX2s CMC Module

This DELL 3XDD3 module serves as the Chassis Management Controller for PowerEdge FX2 and FX2s rack systems. It provides the management interface required to monitor and configure the converged infrastructure chassis. The component is designed for IT administrators deploying or maintaining these specific server platforms.

Installation fits the dedicated CMC bay

The module slides into the designated management slot at the front of the FX2 or FX2s chassis and secures with a thumbscrew. Firmware is updated before shipment so the unit is ready for immediate network configuration. A common issue occurs when the replacement module firmware version differs from the peer CMC, which can prevent the pair from forming a healthy high-availability cluster until versions are aligned.

After seating the 3XDD3 module in the chassis management slot, check the front-panel LEDs for a steady green status indicator and confirm the Chassis Management Controller web interface is reachable at its assigned IP address.

What ships with the 3XDD3 CMC controller module and what must be sourced separately?

The module itself is supplied; rails, power supplies, compute sleds, interconnect modules and any required cabling for the PowerEdge FX2 or FX2s chassis are not included and must be purchased separately.
