Half-height blade server with two 18-core Xeon Gold 6154 CPUs, 16GB DDR4, dual 1.92TB SSDs, H330 controller, 10Gb dual-port networking and iDRAC9 Enterprise
Installed Memory Size 16GB
SSD (Installed) 2 x 1.92TB SATA SSD
The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6154 processors. Each CPU runs 18 cores at 3.0 GHz with a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency, delivering 36 cores in a single slot. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory and a PERC H330 controller come installed. The unit fits MX and M1000e chassis and includes iDRAC9 Enterprise for remote management. No operating system is loaded.
This configuration suits teams running virtualised workloads, private clouds or high-performance compute jobs that benefit from high core counts and fast 10 Gb networking. Buyers who need larger memory footprints, additional drive bays or GPU acceleration should evaluate other platforms. The blade ships without a front bezel or ready rails, so those accessories must be sourced separately if required.
Two 18-core Xeon Gold 6154 processors provide the core density that defines this blade's capacity. Sixteen memory slots support up to 2 TB of DDR4, while the H330 controller manages the two installed 1.92 TB SATA SSDs in RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 or 50. A Broadcom 57810S-K dual-port 10 Gb daughter card handles network connectivity.

Other versions of this model
The M640 is a half-height blade that installs directly into a Dell M1000e or PowerEdge MX enclosure, sharing the same power and cooling infrastructure.
Open the iDRAC9 Enterprise web interface or watch the POST screen; both will show 2 processors, 36 total cores, and 16GB of registered ECC memory.
The blade includes two CPUs, 16GB DDR4, two 1.92TB SSDs, the H330 controller and the 57810S-K 10Gb dual-port card; front bezel and rails are not included.
