Half-height blade server with dual 18-core Xeon Gold 6150 processors, 16 GB DDR4, dual 1.92 TB SATA SSDs, PERC H330 RAID controller, 10 Gb dual-port networking and iDRAC9 Enterprise management
Installed Memory Size 16GB
SSD (Installed) 2 x 1.92TB SATA SSD
The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built for dense compute clusters. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6150 processors provide 36 cores at 2.7 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo capability. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory and two 1.92 TB SATA SSDs are installed. The system includes a PERC H330 RAID controller and dual-port 10 Gb Broadcom 57810S-K networking.
Organisations running virtualised workloads, private clouds or high-performance computing jobs gain from the 36-core density and fast storage. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of memory or additional drive bays should look at a larger configuration. The blade requires a compatible PowerEdge MX or M1000e chassis and does not ship with an operating system or front bezel.
Under continuous load both Xeon Gold 6150 CPUs maintain their base 2.7 GHz across all 18 cores per socket. The PERC H330 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50 without a dedicated cache module, so write-heavy streams rely on the SSDs' native endurance. iDRAC9 Enterprise provides remote power, thermal and firmware control during extended operations.

Other versions of this model
The M640 is a half-height blade that installs in a PowerEdge M1000e or MX chassis; the chassis supplies power, cooling and the I/O fabric.
The H330 supports mixed SATA and SAS drives and can configure RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 or 50 across them.
iDRAC9 Enterprise shows both CPUs, all 18 cores per socket, and the 16GB of registered ECC memory in its system inventory.
