Half-width blade server with dual 16-core Gold 6526Y CPUs, 512GB DDR4 and four 2.4TB SAS drives on an H755 MX controller
The DELL PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server built for dense compute clusters. It ships with two Intel Gold 6526Y processors, each running at 2.8 GHz with 16 cores and 37.5 MB cache. Memory capacity is 512 GB of DDR4 arranged in sixteen 32 GB modules. Four 2.4 TB 10 K SAS drives and an H755 MX RAID controller handle local storage.
The blade format relies on shared chassis cooling, so fan speed and acoustics are managed at enclosure level rather than per node. Power draw scales with the dual 16-core CPUs and the full 512 GB memory complement during typical virtualisation or database workloads. The 25 Gb CNA mezzanine card adds network I/O without a separate adapter. iDRAC9 Express provides out-of-band monitoring for thermal and power telemetry.
Under continuous multi-threaded demand the two Gold 6526Y CPUs maintain their 2.8 GHz base frequency across all 16 cores per socket. The 37.5 MB cache per processor helps reduce memory latency when working sets exceed the 512 GB DDR4 pool. Four 10 K SAS spindles deliver consistent sequential throughput for write-heavy logs or checkpointing. The H755 MX controller sustains RAID parity calculations without throttling the storage path.

Slide the blade into an empty half-width slot until the release lever clicks, then secure the latch; the step often missed is fully engaging the latch so the blade seats on the midplane connectors.
The 2.4TB 10K SAS drives are mechanical; plan to replace any drive that shows SMART errors or exceeds its rated workload, and rebuild the H755 MX RAID array after each swap.
The 16-core 2.8GHz Gold 6526Y processors will hit their thermal design power ceiling first, causing clock throttling if chassis airflow or inlet temperature is insufficient.
