1U rack server with Xeon E5-2603v3 six-core processor, 24GB DDR4, eight 300GB 15K SAS drives and H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 24GB
HDD 8 x 300GB
The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz. It ships with 24 GB of DDR4 memory across twelve DIMM slots and eight 300 GB 15 K SAS drives managed by a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. A 550 W redundant power supply, DVD-ROM drive, four 1 GbE ports and two PCIe 3.0 slots complete the configuration.
This server fits environments that need up to eight hot-plug SAS or SATA drives in a 1U form factor with hardware RAID and redundant power. It is not for buyers who require dual-processor performance immediately, more than 24 GB of memory out of the box, or additional PCIe expansion beyond two slots.
Although the platform supports up to 384 GB across twelve slots, this unit is populated to 24 GB and the installed processor limits memory speed to 2400 MT/s. Buyers planning larger in-memory datasets must add modules and possibly a second CPU to reach higher capacities.

Other versions of this model
The server includes one Xeon E5-2603v3 processor, 24GB DDR4 memory, eight 300GB 15K SAS drives with trays, an H330 RAID controller, a DVD drive, one 550W redundant power supply, a power cable and iDRAC8 Express. Rails, bezel, empty drive trays, mouse, keyboard and video cable are not included.
The board supports up to two processors. A second E5-2603v3 doubles the core count to twelve and unlocks the remaining six DIMM slots, raising the memory ceiling to 384GB. For lightly threaded workloads the single six-core 1.6GHz CPU is sufficient.
The 24GB is the installed capacity across the twelve DIMM slots. With one processor only six slots are active, so the memory runs at up to 2400MT/s limited by the E5-2603v3. Adding a second CPU enables all twelve slots and the full 384GB maximum.
