Compact 1U rack server for dense deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rackmount server system built for space-efficient data center installation. It ships new with dual Intel Xeon Gold 6130 2.1GHz 16-core processors, 512GB of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory and a Dell PERC H330 12Gb/s SAS/SATA storage controller. Four 8TB 7.2K SATA 3.5" enterprise hard drives, dual-port gigabit Ethernet, iDRAC9 Express remote management and two 550W platinum power supplies complete the configuration.

Suits virtualization and storage-focused workloads

This system fits organizations that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a single rack unit for virtualization, application hosting or database tasks. The four-bay 3.5" chassis and H330 controller support SAS and SATA drives for flexible storage layouts. Buyers who require front bezel and ready rails included, or who need a server that supports a different drive form factor, should look at other configurations.

512GB DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory capacity

The installed 512GB across sixteen 32GB modules determines how many virtual machines or large datasets can reside in memory simultaneously. This capacity, combined with the dual 16-core Xeon processors, sets the practical limit for memory-bound workloads on this server.
