Compact 1U Server for Dense Rack Deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rackmount server built for space-efficient data centre deployment. It delivers enterprise computing performance in a compact form factor designed for business applications, virtualisation, cloud and storage workloads.

Suits Virtualisation and Storage Workloads.

This server suits organisations running virtualisation, application hosting, database workloads or cloud infrastructure in dense rack environments. Buyers needing GPU acceleration or PCIe add-in cards should look elsewhere due to the 1U chassis constraints.

Dual Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs with 16 Cores Each

Two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors run at 2.1GHz base and 3.7GHz turbo, providing 16 cores per socket for multi-threaded performance. The 16GB DDR4-2666 ECC memory and PERC H330 controller with four 8TB 7.2K SATA drives complete the core specification.

Questions about this item

Does the server come with mounting rails so I can install it in my rack?

The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so you will need to supply your own 1U rack rails for installation.

Can I add more memory later using the existing DDR4-2666 ECC registered DIMMs?

Yes, the system uses DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory and has open slots for future expansion beyond the installed 16 GB.

How can I verify the PERC H330 controller sees all four 8 TB drives after first boot?

During POST the H330 BIOS will list each detected 8 TB SATA drive, and iDRAC 9 Express will also show the full drive inventory in its storage overview.
