DELL

DELL PowerEdge R440 1U rack server 2x Xeon Gold 6130 2.1GHz 32GB DDR4 H730P 8x 2.5" fillers 2x 550W PSUs

SKU CH-BF0T-BAD35

1U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs, 32GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H730P RAID controller, eight 2.5-inch drive bays and dual 550W power supplies

  • Dual Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs deliver 32 cores at 2.1 GHz base
  • Turbo up to 3.7 GHz handles peak compute bursts efficiently
  • 32 GB DDR4-2666 ECC memory ensures data integrity under load
  • PERC H730P RAID controller supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 with battery backup
  • Dual 550 W platinum PSUs provide redundant power for uptime

Compact 1U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rack server built for dense data centre deployments. It targets organisations running virtualization, cloud workloads, or storage tasks that need high compute density in minimal rack space. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors provide 16 cores each at 2.1 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory across four modules.

Storage controller and remote management

A PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache drives eight 2.5-inch bays, currently populated with fillers, and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 plus pass-through for SAS and SATA drives. Dual 1 GbE ports handle baseline network connectivity. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and administration without physical access. Redundant 550 W platinum power supplies protect uptime during a single unit failure. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.

Upgrade from single-socket or non-redundant systems

This server replaces single-socket 1U boxes or older dual-socket platforms that lack hardware RAID with battery-backed cache and integrated remote management. The jump is worth it when workloads demand sixteen cores per socket, ECC memory reliability, and redundant power in a single rack unit. Buyers who need more than eight drive bays, higher single-thread frequency, or included rack rails should evaluate larger chassis options.
