1U rack server with dual 10-core Xeon Silver 4114 CPUs at 2.2 GHz, 128 GB DDR4-2400 ECC, PERC HBA330 controller, four 3.5-inch bays, dual 1 GbE and iDRAC9 Express
The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rack server built for data centres and virtualisation clusters where rack space is at a premium. Dual Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors deliver twenty cores at 2.2GHz with 3.0GHz turbo for multi-threaded workloads. One hundred and twenty-eight gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation across sixteen DIMM slots.
Two 550 Watt platinum-efficiency hot-swap power supplies maintain continuous operation during a single-unit failure. The HBA330 controller provides 12Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity without a RAID overhead, keeping drive latency predictable under constant I/O. Dual 1GbE ports and iDRAC9 Express allow remote monitoring and firmware updates without interrupting running services.
The chassis ships with four 3.5-inch drive bay fillers installed, ready for SAS or SATA drives when storage is added. Ready Rails and front bezel are not included, so mounting hardware must be sourced separately for standard rack installation. Sixteen memory slots and a maximum capacity of 1TB DDR4 leave headroom for future expansion beyond the factory configuration.

Two 550 Watt Platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power; each Xeon Silver 4114 runs at 2.2 GHz base with 3.0 GHz turbo across 10 cores, so sustained load draws near the supply rating while fans scale to keep temperatures in spec.
The chassis ships with four 3.5-inch bay fillers and a PERC HBA330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA controller; you provide 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives and compatible Dell 14G drive carriers to fill the slots.
The system holds 128 GB across eight DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs in 16 slots; matching modules can be added to reach 1 TB maximum capacity.
