1U rack server with dual 10-core Xeon Silver 4114 CPUs, 64GB DDR4, eight 1.92TB SATA SSDs on a H730P RAID controller, and dual 550W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rackmount server built for space-efficient data centre deployment. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 2.2GHz 10-core processors and 64GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory. This configuration targets virtualisation, cloud and storage workloads that need reliable compute density in a single rack unit.
The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays populated with 1.92TB SATA 6Gb/s enterprise solid-state drives. A Dell PERC H730P 2GB 12Gb/s SAS/SATA controller with battery-backed cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through modes. Dual integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports and iDRAC 9 Express remote management handle networking and out-of-band administration. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.
Two 550 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant power for continuous operation in normal use. The 1U form factor relies on high-speed internal airflow to cool the dual 10-core processors, memory and storage subsystem. Acoustic output is typical for a rackmount server in a cooled data centre aisle. Power draw scales with workload across the two CPUs and eight drives.

The PERC H730P handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through, with its 2GB cache backed by a battery to protect writes during power loss.
The R440 fits eight 2.5-inch SATA SSDs in its front bays; the 1.92TB enterprise drives supplied fill all slots and the unit ships without a front bezel or ready rails.
Connect a network cable to the dedicated iDRAC port, power on the server, enter the iDRAC setup at boot (usually F10), set a static IP, then log in via browser to complete the initial configuration.
