Compact 1U rack server for dense deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rackmount server built for data-centre and virtualization workloads. It delivers enterprise-grade compute in a single rack unit, making it suitable for organisations that need to maximise density while running business applications, databases or cloud infrastructure.

Dual Xeon Gold 6130 processors

Two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs provide 16 cores each at 2.1 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation. The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache manages eight 960 GB SATA SSDs across RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, freeing internal bays for additional SAS or SATA drives.

Redundant 550 W platinum supplies sustain

Dual 550 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies maintain uptime during sustained workloads. Integrated dual-port gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express remote management enable monitoring and administration without physical access. The server is not suited for buyers who need GPU acceleration or front bezel and ready rails included.

Questions about this item

How many drive bays limit storage expansion on this R440?

The 1U chassis provides eight 2.5-inch bays, all occupied by the 960 GB SSDs, so no additional drives can be added without removing existing ones.

What is the thermal and power profile when both Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs run continuously?

Dual 550 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant power; the integrated cooling handles sustained 2.1 GHz base clocks with 3.7 GHz turbo across all 16 cores per socket.

Which rack-mount hardware must I supply to install this server?

Front bezel and ready rails are not included, so you need compatible 1U sliding rails and a bezel for your cabinet.
