Compact 1U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs, 512GB DDR4 ECC memory, eight 1.8TB SAS drives on a H730P controller, dual Gigabit Ethernet, iDRAC9 Express remote management.
The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a compact 1U rack server built for dense data centre environments. It targets organisations running virtualization, application hosting, database workloads and cloud infrastructure where rack density matters. Dual Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors deliver 32 cores at 2.1GHz with 3.7GHz turbo for demanding enterprise computing. The 512GB DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation across heavy multi-tenant workloads.
Two 550 watt platinum efficiency power supplies provide redundant power for continuous operation in business-critical deployments. The 1U chassis uses front-to-back airflow across eight 2.5 inch drive bays and the dual processor configuration. Integrated dual port gigabit ethernet handles baseline network connectivity without add-in cards. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and administration without physical access to the rack.
This configuration upgrades from earlier 1U platforms limited to 6Gb/s storage controllers or smaller memory capacities. The PERC H730P with 2GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through at 12Gb/s SAS/SATA speeds. Eight 1.8TB 10K SAS drives deliver high-capacity enterprise storage in the same footprint. The jump is worth it when consolidation ratios demand 512GB ECC memory and 12Gb/s throughput in a single rack unit.

No published specifications for this item yet.
The H730P plugs into the dedicated internal slot; the battery module must be connected and seated before the first boot so write-back caching is enabled.
Drive SMART attributes should be monitored via iDRAC9; the RAID battery typically requires replacement every three to five years to preserve cached writes.
The dual 550 W platinum power supplies set the ceiling; continuous all-core turbo on both Xeon Gold 6130 CPUs will reach the chassis power budget before thermals peak.
