Compact 1U rack server for dense deployments

The Dell PowerEdge R440 is a new 1U rackmount server built for space-efficient data centre deployments. It delivers enterprise processing power through dual Intel Xeon Gold 5118 2.3GHz 12-core processors and 64GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory. The PERC H730P controller provides hardware RAID across SAS and SATA drives. Integrated iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and administration.

Suits virtualisation hosts needing high core density

This configuration suits organisations running virtualisation, application hosting, or database workloads in dense rack environments where 1U form factor and dual-processor performance are priorities. The four 3.5-inch drive bays populated with fillers indicate no drives are included, so buyers needing immediate storage capacity must procure drives separately. The dual 550W platinum power supplies support redundant operation for continuous uptime requirements.

Dual Xeon Gold 5118 processors define compute

The two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors each provide 12 cores at 2.3GHz base with 3.2GHz turbo, establishing the absolute processing limit for this server. No further CPU upgrades are possible without replacing the processors themselves. The 64GB DDR4-2400 ECC memory uses four 16GB modules, occupying all available slots in this configuration. The PERC H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 modes with its 2GB cache and battery backup.
