2U rack server with dual 10-core Xeon processors, 16GB DDR4, three 4TB SAS drives and an H730 RAID controller
HDD 3 x 4TB SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R530 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processors, each with ten cores running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory installed across twelve DIMM slots and three 4 TB SAS hard drives connected to a PERC H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Redundant 750 W power supplies and a DVD-ROM drive complete the baseline configuration.
Verify that your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that the eight 3.5-inch hot-plug drive bays match your storage expansion plans. The system supports up to 384 GB of DDR4 across twelve slots, so confirm whether the installed 16 GB meets your workload or if additional modules are required. Five PCIe slots are available — three PCIe 3.0 and two PCIe 2.0 — so ensure any add-in cards fit the lane allocation and physical length constraints.
The PERC H730 controller includes 1 GB of 12 Gbps cache to accelerate RAID operations across the SAS drives. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller, shipping in the Express tier with optional upgrades to Enterprise and vFlash media. A rail kit and power cable are bundled, simplifying rack installation without extra procurement.

Other versions of this model
The server ships with dual Xeon E5-2650 v3 processors, 16GB DDR4 memory, three 4TB 7.2K SAS drives, H730 RAID controller with 1GB cache, two 750W redundant power supplies, DVD drive, iDRAC8 Express, Matrox G200eR2 video, power cable and rail kit. No operating system is included.
The system has 12 DIMM slots (six per CPU) and supports 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB DDR4 modules up to 2400MT/s, with a maximum of 384GB total. Installed memory is 16GB; add matching DDR4 modules in multiples of six per processor for best performance.
The H730 provides 12Gbps SAS connectivity and 1GB cache, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 3.5" hot-plug bays. With the three included 4TB 7.2K drives you can build a RAID 5 array for capacity and redundancy, and the controller's cache improves write throughput for mixed workloads.
