2U rack server with single Xeon E5-2603 V3, 128GB DDR4, H730 RAID controller and eight 3.5" hot-plug bays
Installed Memory Size 128GB
HDD None
The Dell PowerEdge R530 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 V3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 memory installed across twelve DIMM slots, reaching the maximum capacity supported by this CPU. The system targets small-to-medium businesses that need reliable on-premise compute for virtualisation, database or file-serving workloads.
Dual 750 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the server running if one unit fails, while the H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache manages up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60. Four onboard 1 GbE ports handle steady network traffic, and the Matrox G200 graphics chip provides basic video output without adding thermal load.
The chassis measures 25.4 by 17.1 by 3.4 inches and weighs 62 lbs, so two people or a lift are recommended for rack mounting. Rail kit, bezel, keyboard, mouse and video cable are not included, so plan to source those separately. Only one processor is fitted; the second socket is empty and requires a matching Xeon and six additional DIMMs to activate the remaining memory channels.

Other versions of this model
Each supply is rated at 750W; actual draw depends on workload but the redundant pair ensures continued operation if one unit fails.
A rail kit, bezel, mouse, keyboard and video cable are not included; only a power cable ships with the unit.
Yes — the eight hot-plug bays accept 3.5" SAS or SATA drives and the H730 supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 with them.
