2U rack server with one Xeon E5-2630 V3 at 2.4GHz, 96GB DDR4, two 300GB 15K SAS drives and a Perc H730 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 96GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 15K
The DELL PowerEdge R530 is a 2U rack-mount server designed for data-centre and enterprise workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 V3 eight-core processor running at 2.4GHz and 96GB of DDR4 memory. Two 750W redundant power supplies provide continuous uptime for critical applications.
This server is configured with one Intel Xeon E5-2630 V3 CPU delivering eight physical cores and 16 threads via hyper-threading. The Intel C610 chipset supports a second processor for doubled core count when workloads demand additional compute capacity. The installed 96GB DDR4 across 12 DIMM slots reaches the maximum capacity supported by this single-processor configuration.
Storage begins with two 300GB 15K RPM SAS drives managed by the Dell PERC H730 1GB 12Gbps controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Eight 3.5-inch hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives up to a total raw capacity of 80TB. Buyers needing solid-state media or more than eight drive bays must look elsewhere.

Other versions of this model
The system ships with 96 GB installed and the memory controller supports up to 384 GB across 12 DIMM slots. The Xeon E5-2630 v3 limits module speed to 2400 MT/s, so all memory runs at that rate.
The controller provides 12 Gbps SAS lanes and 1 GB cache, enabling RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60. Drive throughput is capped by the 6 Gbps SAS drives installed and the PCIe 3.0 slot the card occupies.
The chassis measures 25.4 inches long and 3.4 inches high; it includes sliding rails for a standard four-post rack. Depth clearance must accommodate the full 25.4 inch length plus cable bend radius at the rear.
