Questions about this item

Do the 2.3 GHz Xeon Gold 5118 processors require a specific LGA socket motherboard?

The processors are already installed in the Dell PowerEdge R540 system board, so no separate motherboard purchase is needed.

Can the 12 Gb/s SAS PERC H730P controller also manage the 7.2K SATA 6 Gb/s hard drives?

Yes, the H730P supports both SAS and SATA drives and will run the 8 TB SATA disks at their native 6 Gb/s link speed.

How can I verify the 256 GB DDR4-2400 memory is recognised after powering on?

During POST the BIOS displays the total memory, and the iDRAC9 Express web interface also reports 256 GB across the eight 32 GB modules.
